Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Ashney ("we", "us") collects, why, and the choices you have. It covers the marketing site at ashney.ai and the product at app.ashney.ai.

Information we collect

• Account details. Your email address, used for passwordless sign-in and to send your briefs.
• Search profile. The experience, preferences, and target roles you give us so we can read the market against your background. You provide this; you can edit or remove it at any time.
• Usage data. Basic, aggregated analytics about how the site and product are used (pages, clicks, device and approximate region), so we can improve them.
• Cookies. A small number of cookies for sign-in and analytics. See "Cookies and analytics" below.

We do not ask for, and do not want, sensitive personal information beyond what a job search reasonably needs.

How we use your information

• To read new roles against your real experience and surface the ones worth your time.
• To send you the briefs and updates you have asked for.
• To operate, secure, and improve the service.
• To respond to you when you contact us.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to train third-party advertising profiles.

The role data we show you

Ashney reads roles from companies' own public careers pages and other public sources. That job information is about employers, not about you, and showing it to you does not tell any employer that you exist or that you are looking.

Who we share data with

We share data only with the service providers that help us run Ashney, under contracts that limit them to that purpose:

• Hosting and database. Supabase and our cloud hosting provider store your account and profile data.
• Analytics. Google Analytics helps us understand aggregate usage.
• Email delivery. An email provider delivers your sign-in links and briefs.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service.

Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies for sign-in and Google Analytics (GA4) to measure aggregate usage. You can block cookies in your browser, use a tracking blocker, or opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Blocking analytics does not affect your ability to use Ashney.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your profile data or close your account at any time, and we will remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EU, UK, and California), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, email us at privacy@ashney.ai and we will respond within the time your local law requires.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your search private and your data safe.

International transfers

Ashney is operated with infrastructure that may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Children

Ashney is intended for working professionals and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
