UAE finance hiring up 8% this month, but weekly pace cools from its peak

Openings rose over the last 30 days, yet the weekly flow of new roles has eased since mid October. Banks still lead the list.

Issue of 2 November 2026

This week's read

There are 261 open finance and accounting roles in the UAE right now, spread across 135 companies. New postings in the last 30 days came to 42, up from 39 in the 30 days before, an 8% rise. But look at the week by week picture and the story shifts: new roles peaked at 14 in the week of 19 October, then slipped to 12 the week after, a 14% drop from that peak. So the month is up, but the pace has backed off its high point.

Roles do not sit open long here. The median open role has been live for 19 days, which tells you that hiring moves at a decent clip once a role is posted.

The employer list is led by banks. FAB and Mashreq each have 14 open roles, ADIB has 12, and together with Marriott International, Ali & Sons, RAK Bank, Visioneers and Hilton, the top 8 employers hold 28% of all open roles. Banking shows up as the top named industry at 15% of postings, ahead of financial services at 9% and AML at 6%.

Experience requirements sit in the middle of the range for most roles. Where years are stated, which covers 70% of postings, the median minimum asked is 5 years, and only 12% of roles ask for 10 or more years. On skills, ERP is the most named tool at 10% of postings, with SAP close behind at 9%. On the certification side, CPA appears in 23% of postings, ACCA in 18%, and Chartered Accountant in 13%.

Two things to flag if you are applying from outside the office. Remote roles are rare here, just 2% of all open positions, so most hiring expects you on site. And pay is almost never stated: too few roles post a salary figure to say what the market is paying for any given role.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Apply fast once you see a role

The median open role lasts just 19 days before it closes, so do not wait around once you spot something that fits.

  • Look first at the big banks

FAB, Mashreq and ADIB post the most roles right now, and banking is the top named industry at 15% of postings.

  • CPA and ACCA come up often

CPA appears in 23% of postings and ACCA in 18%. Neither is required everywhere, but they are worth knowing before you apply.

Momentum

New Finance roles each week

Last 30 days: 42 new roles, against 39 the 30 days before (+8%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
