Issue of 2 November 2026

This week's read

Open finance and accounting roles in the rest of Asia-Pacific rose 20% over the past 30 days, with 739 new postings compared to 614 the month before. But the weekly trend tells a slightly different story: postings peaked at 235 in the week of 19 October, then fell to 192 the following week, an 18% drop from that high. The month looks strong overall, but the most recent week was quieter than the one before it.

There are 3,303 open roles right now, spread across 795 companies, and the typical listing stays open for 25 days. The top 8 employers account for 20% of all open roles, so hiring is not concentrated in just a few names. PwC leads with 194 open roles, followed by Deloitte SEA with 168, then CTBC Holding, Marriott International, Metrobank, JPMorganChase, DBS and HSBC rounding out the list.

Two employers on the list are posting less than they were. PwC's new postings fell 18% over the past 30 days, and Johnson & Johnson's fell 7%. If you are tracking either for openings, know that their pace has slowed even as the wider market grew.

On skills, SAP is named in 16% of postings, the most common technical ask, followed by ERP at 8%, Oracle at 7% and Power BI at 7%. On certifications, CPA appears in 19% of postings, ACCA in 8% and CFA in 5%. Most roles, 59%, are pitched at mid-level, with 19% senior, 14% junior and smaller shares at principal and lead level. The median minimum experience asked for is 3 years, and only 7% of postings call for 10 or more years. Just 6% of open roles are remote, so most of this hiring expects you in an office.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Apply despite the recent dip

The 30-day trend is up 20% even though the latest week eased 18% from its peak. A single quieter week does not mean the market has turned.

  • Watch PwC and Johnson & Johnson closely

Both have posted fewer new roles recently, PwC down 18% and Johnson & Johnson down 7%. If you are targeting them, expect slower movement than elsewhere.

  • SAP and CPA show up most often

SAP appears in 16% of postings and CPA in 19%. These are the most common technical and certification mentions across this market, worth knowing before you apply.

New Finance roles each week

Last 30 days: 739 new roles, against 614 the 30 days before (+20%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
