Issue of 2 November 2026This week's read
This week there are 879 open People & HR roles across 415 companies in the rest of Asia-Pacific, with the typical posting staying open 24 days before it is filled or pulled.
The weekly flow of new postings has slowed since its peak: the week of 7 September saw 67 new roles, and the week of 26 October saw 58, a drop of 13% from that high point. Over the last 30 days, 203 new roles opened, down from 214 in the 30 days before, a fall of 5%.
Marriott International has the most open roles among named employers, with 39, ahead of Deloitte SEA, PWC and Teleperformance. But the eight biggest employers together hold only 18% of all open roles, so most of the hiring is spread across smaller companies rather than concentrated at the top.
On skills, HRIS is named in 23% of postings and employment law knowledge in 20%, both well ahead of anything else on the list. On experience, the typical posting asks for a minimum of 4 years, and 12% ask for 10 years or more.
Remote work is rare in this market: only 3% of open roles are listed as remote, so most hiring expects you to be on site.
What this means for you
Three things you can act on this week
- Expect a slower hiring pace
New postings are down 13% from the September peak and 5% over the last 30 days. Don't read a quiet week as the whole market drying up, but don't expect September's volume either.
- Look past the biggest names
Marriott, Deloitte SEA, PWC and Teleperformance post the most roles, but together the top 8 employers hold only 18% of openings. Most jobs sit with smaller or less visible companies.
- HRIS and employment law come up often
HRIS is named in 23% of postings and employment law knowledge in 20%. If your background touches either, it's worth highlighting since they appear far more than other skills on the list.
Momentum
New People roles each week
Last 30 days: 203 new roles, against 214 the 30 days before (-5%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.
