This week's read

If you're job hunting in HR in Mexico right now, the timing looks good. New postings rose 44% over the last 30 days compared with the 30 days before that. The number of new roles added each week has climbed steadily since September and held at its highest point in the most recent week tracked.

There are 300 open roles spread across 176 companies, and the typical role stays open 21 days before it's filled or pulled. The eight biggest employers hiring, including Corning, Jabil, Cummins and Mercado Libre, only account for 19% of all open roles between them. That means most of the opportunity is sitting with smaller and mid-size employers, not just the big names.

Don't count on working from home: only 3% of open roles are remote, so most of this hiring is for people on site or in a hybrid setup. On experience, the bar isn't especially high. The median minimum experience asked for is 3 years, and only 6% of postings want 10 or more years. Just over half of roles, 57%, state a specific years requirement at all.

On skills, HRIS systems and Workday are the two most named tools, appearing in 19% and 18% of postings read. Employment law knowledge shows up in 14% of postings, more than any other named industry background. Certifications like PHR and SHRM-CP are asked for only occasionally, each in about 2% of postings.

Most roles sit in the middle of the ladder: 69% are classed as mid-level, with senior roles at 16% and junior roles at 11%. If you're early or mid-career, this is a market with more openings than usual right now and a wide field of employers to apply to.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Move fast once you apply

The typical role stays open just 21 days. With new postings up 44% in a month, don't wait to send in applications once you see something that fits.

  • Look past the big names

The eight biggest employers hiring only hold 19% of open roles. With 176 companies hiring in total, spend time searching beyond Corning, Jabil, Cummins and Mercado Libre.

  • HRIS and Workday stand out

HRIS is named in 19% of postings and Workday in 18%, more than any other tool. If you know either, make sure it's easy to find on your resume.

Momentum

New People roles each week

Last 30 days: 91 new roles, against 63 the 30 days before (+44%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
