Mexico Operations hiring was flat this month, but last week was the busiest in two months

New postings over the last 30 days barely moved, yet the most recent week brought more new Operations roles than any week since early September.

This week's read

Open roles for Operations in Mexico barely changed this month: 95 new postings in the last 30 days against 96 in the prior 30, a 1% dip. But look at the week-by-week pattern and the story is different. After slow weeks in early and mid October, hiring jumped to 37 new roles in the week of 26 October, the strongest week in the eight weeks tracked.

There are 293 open Operations roles right now, spread across 153 companies. Roles stay open a median of 21 days before they come down, so if something fits you, move on it. Mercado Libre, Amazon, Empleos.Banorte.Com and DiDi Global sit at the top of the hiring list, but together with the rest of the top employers they only account for 31% of all open roles. Hiring is spread wide, not concentrated in a few names.

Most roles ask for some experience: the median minimum is 4 years, and 7% of postings want 10 or more. Only 55% of postings state a years requirement at all, so plenty leave it open. By title, 70% of roles sit at mid level, with senior titles at 12% and junior roles making up just 7%, so this is mostly a market for people already a few years in.

On skills, SQL and Power BI are the most named tools, each appearing in 13% of postings, followed by AI and machine learning and Salesforce at 11% each. Among ways of working, Lean is named in 8% of postings and Six Sigma in 6%. Certifications barely come up at all: PMP, Certified Management Accountant and Six Sigma Black Belt are each named in just 1% of postings.

Remote work is rare in this market. Only 7% of open Operations roles are listed as remote, so most hiring is happening for on-site or office-based positions.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Move fast once you apply

Roles stay open a median of 21 days. With hiring having just picked up to its busiest week in two months, apply quickly when you see a fit.

  • Plan for an office, not remote

Only 7% of open Operations roles are remote. Most hiring in this market is for on-site or office-based positions, so factor that into your search.

  • Tools are asked for more than certificates

SQL and Power BI each appear in 13% of postings, while certifications like PMP, CMA and Six Sigma Black Belt each show up in just 1%. Weigh that when deciding what to highlight.

Momentum

New Operations roles each week

Last 30 days: 95 new roles, against 96 the 30 days before (-1%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
