Issue of 2 November 2026This week's read
There are 3,958 open Sales roles across the rest of Asia-Pacific right now, spread across 951 companies. New postings jumped 47% in the last 30 days, 1,089 compared with 740 in the 30 days before. The weekly pace has eased just slightly from its peak: 360 new roles went up the week of 19 October, 350 the week after.
Look at who's hiring and healthcare and pharma stand out. Johnson & Johnson leads with 112 open roles, followed by Pfizer at 98, AstraZeneca at 95 and Abbott at 79. Banks CIMB Group Malaysia, DBS and OCBC also feature, but the top 8 employers together hold only 16% of all open roles, so hiring is spread wide across the market.
Two companies are posting noticeably faster than before. AstraZeneca's new postings rose 197% in 30 days, from 31 to 92. Abbott's rose 30%, from 44 to 57. Both are among the market's biggest employers for Sales right now.
Experience bars are moderate but not low. The median role asks for 5 years minimum, and 12% want 10 years or more. Still, only 57% of postings state a years requirement at all. By title, 74% of roles are mid-level, 12% senior, 7% principal, with smaller shares junior or lead.
Remote work is rare here: only 5% of open roles are remote, so plan on being near an office. On skills, CRM is named in 16% of postings and Salesforce in 7%, well ahead of anything else listed. Healthcare and pharmaceuticals are the most common industries named, at 10% and 7%.
What this means for you
Three things you can act on this week
- Look toward pharma and healthcare
AstraZeneca and Abbott both posted sharply more new roles this month, 197% and 30% respectively. Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer also sit atop the open roles list, so healthcare employers are worth a close look.
- Plan for office-based work
Only 5% of open Sales roles in this market are remote. If you need remote work, expect a narrow search; most roles will want you on site.
- CRM experience is the most asked-for skill
CRM appears in 16% of postings and Salesforce in 7%, both well ahead of other tools. Experience with these may stand out, since nothing else is mentioned nearly as often.
Momentum
New Sales roles each week
Last 30 days: 1,089 new roles, against 740 the 30 days before (+47%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.
