This week's read
The weekly pace for UK Product Marketing Manager roles has cooled. New postings peaked at 11 in the week of 19 October, then fell to 7 by 26 October, a drop of 36%. Zoom out to the 30-day view and the picture still looks fine: 39 new roles appeared in the last 30 days against 37 in the 30 days before, up 5%. So the month is up, but the most recent weeks tell you the rush has slowed.
No single employer runs this market. With 103 open roles spread across 93 companies, and the top 8 employers, including Amazon, AMD and KLA, holding just 16% of all open roles between them, you're not chasing a handful of big hirers. The roles also stay open a while: the median listing sits open for 43 days, so there's no need to panic if a posting has been up for a few weeks.
Visa sponsorship is worth checking before you apply. 55% of open roles sit at employers with recent filings on the UK Home Office sponsor register, including Amazon, AMD, Arrive and KLA. That's a majority, but not all of the market, so it's worth confirming sponsor status role by role.
This is a mid-level market more than a senior one. The typical posting asks for a minimum of 5 years' experience, and only 11% of roles want 10 years or more. On skills, AI and machine learning comes up in 31% of postings, by far the most asked-for technology, with CRM tools and HubSpot trailing behind. Remote options are thin: only 7% of roles are remote, and few postings list pay, so it's hard to say what the role pays at this stage.
What this means for you
Three things you can act on this week
- Don't read the slowdown as a stop
Weekly postings fell 36% from their October peak, but the 30-day count is still up 5%. Keep applying; the market has not shut down, it has just slowed from a short burst.
- Check sponsor status first
55% of open roles sit at employers with recent filings on the UK Home Office sponsor register, including Amazon, AMD, Arrive and KLA. If you need sponsorship, confirm this before applying.
- Mention AI and machine learning if it fits
AI and machine learning is named in 31% of postings, more than any other skill listed. If your experience covers it, make sure it's visible on your CV.

New PMM roles each week
Last 30 days: 39 new roles, against 37 the 30 days before (+5%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.
