There are 1,736 open QA and Test Engineer roles in India right now, spread across 563 companies. New postings came in at 575 over the last 30 days, down 1% from the 582 posted in the prior 30 days. The weekly pace has held firm: the week of 26 October brought 196 new roles, the strongest week on the chart and also the most recent one.
The experience bar here is real. The median posting asks for at least 5 years of experience, and 74% of open roles state a years requirement outright. One in 8 roles (12%) wants 10 or more years. By title, mid-level roles make up just over half the market at 53%, with senior titles at 24%, lead at 12%, principal at 8%, and junior only 4%.
On tools, Python shows up in 43% of postings, Selenium in 31%, SQL and Java each in 28%, and Playwright in 27%. Jenkins, Git and Postman follow close behind. For how teams work, Agile is named in 42% of postings and Jira in 28%, with Scrum at 19% and root cause analysis at 15%. ISTQB is the only certification with real presence, named in 8% of postings.
Hiring is spread out: the top 8 employers together hold just 22% of all open roles. Infosys leads with 88 open roles, followed by UST at 65, Embitel Technologies at 61, and LTIMindtree at 49. PWC is the one employer with a clear move this period, posting 37 new roles against 39 before, a 5% drop.
Two things to know before you search: only 2% of open roles are remote, so plan on being in an office for most of these jobs. And only 1% of postings show pay at all, which means there is not enough data here to say what this market actually pays.

- Don't count on remote
Only 2% of open roles are remote. If location flexibility matters to you, filter early rather than assuming it is on the table.
