There are 1,888 open Data Analyst roles in India right now, spread across 609 companies. New postings grew 40% over the last 30 days, up from 573 new roles to 800. Roles stay open for a median of 17 days before they are filled or pulled.
The week of 26 October brought 272 new roles, the highest of the last eight weeks and also the latest number on record, so the pace has not slowed from its high point. Weekly postings rose fairly steadily from 139 in early September to that peak.
Experience matters a lot in this market. The median posting asks for at least 5 years, and 1 in 10 roles want 10 or more. Of all open roles, 74% state a required number of years, and by title, 57% are mid level and 26% are senior, leaving little room at the junior end, which is just 7%.
SQL is the most asked skill, named in 44% of postings, followed by Power BI at 34% and Python at 27%. Tableau appears in 22% and AI and machine learning in 19%. Agile is the most common way of working, asked for in 24% of roles.
Only 2% of open roles are remote, so most jobs expect you in an office. Pay is rarely stated: none of the open postings in this market list a salary, so there is not enough data to say what the role pays. Among top employers, Amgen has the most open roles at 68, and the eight biggest hirers together hold 20% of all open roles; Genpact posted slightly more new roles than before, up 2%.
