Issue of 2 November 2026This week's read
There are 355 open Data Analyst roles across 186 companies in the rest of Latin America right now. New postings rose 34% over the last 30 days compared with the 30 days before, climbing from 98 to 131 new roles. Still, the weekly count has cooled: after hitting 46 new roles in the week of 19 October, the most of any week tracked, it fell to 39 by 26 October, a 15% drop from that peak.
Mercado Libre leads hiring with 38 open roles, more than any other company on the list. The eight biggest employers together hold 26% of all open roles, so most of the market sits outside the biggest names. Roles stay open a median of 32 days before being filled or closed.
If you are building your resume, look at the tools that keep showing up. SQL is asked for in 54% of postings, Power BI in 39%, Python in 29%, and Tableau in 24%. Agile shows up in 9% of listings, with Jira and Scrum each named in 6%.
Most roles are not asking for senior experience. The median minimum is 3 years, and only 3% of postings want 10 or more years. About half of postings, 53%, state a years-of-experience requirement at all, so many listings leave it open.
Remote work is scarce here: just 6% of open roles are listed as remote. By seniority, 60% of roles are pitched at mid-level, 24% at senior, and 11% at junior, with lead and principal titles making up a small slice of the rest.
What this means for you
Three things you can act on this week
- Apply even without 10+ years
Only 3% of postings ask for 10 or more years of experience, and the median minimum is just 3 years. Most roles are mid-level, so experienced seniority is not the main gate.
- Lead with SQL and Power BI
SQL appears in 54% of postings and Power BI in 39%, well ahead of Python and Tableau. If your resume highlights these first, it matches what most employers are asking for.
- Don't count on remote
Only 6% of open roles are remote, so most hiring expects you on-site or hybrid. Plan your search and any relocation around that reality rather than hoping for a fully remote role.
Momentum
New Analytics roles each week
Last 30 days: 131 new roles, against 98 the 30 days before (+34%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.
