75% of open roles state yearsThis week's read
Hiring picked up sharply for data analysts in Canada. There are 804 open roles right now across 368 companies, and 333 of them were posted in the last 30 days, up from 240 in the 30 days before that, a 39% rise. With the median listing staying open just 18 days, waiting a week to apply can mean missing it.
Emplois sur GROUPE TEHORA is the biggest single hirer, with 58 open roles, well ahead of TD at 23, CIBC at 22, and LTIMindtree at 21. Even so, the top 8 employers together hold only 23% of all open roles, so most of the hiring is spread across smaller and mid-size companies rather than concentrated at the top.
Experience requirements are on the higher side. The median minimum asked is 5 years, and 7% of postings want 10 or more. Three in four postings state a required number of years, so you can usually tell where you stand before you apply.
Pay shows up in 41% of postings, or 326 roles, with a typical range of C$85k to C$115k across all levels. Mid level roles, the largest group at 206 openings, typically run C$80k to C$109k, while senior and lead roles, 110 openings, typically run C$90k to C$125k. Remote work is rare, at just 5% of open roles.
On skills, SQL is the most asked for, named in 40% of postings, followed by Power BI at 33% and Python at 27%. AI and machine learning appear in 16% of postings. Agile is the most common way of working mentioned, at 21%, with Jira close behind at 12%.

Momentum
New Analytics roles each week
Last 30 days: 333 new roles, against 240 the 30 days before (+39%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.
