Issue of 2 November 2026

This week's read

There are 774 open Data Analyst roles across the rest of Asia-Pacific right now, spread across 342 companies. New postings rose 24% over the last 30 days. The week of 26 Oct was the strongest of the last two months, with 81 new roles, so this market has been picking up pace right into this week.

No single company owns this market. The top 8 employers together hold only 16% of open roles. PWC leads with 27 open roles and IQVIA has 22, but even those numbers are small next to the 774 total, so you have many places to look, not just a handful of big names.

This is not a remote market. Only 2% of open roles are remote, so plan on being near an office if you want to work here. On experience, 62% of postings state a required number of years, and the median ask is 4 years, so this is mostly a mid-career market rather than an entry-level one.

SQL and Power BI are the two tools employers mention most, named in 36% and 33% of postings. If you already use one or both, your experience lines up with what is actually being asked for in this market right now.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Apply while it's busy

New postings are up 24% over the last 30 days, with the single strongest week on record just behind us. This is a good window to send applications rather than wait.

  • Look past the big names

The top 8 employers hold only 16% of open roles between them, so widen your search beyond PWC and IQVIA. Most of the 774 roles sit with smaller or less visible companies.

  • Plan to work on site

Only 2% of roles are remote. If location flexibility matters to you, check each listing's city before applying rather than assuming remote work is on offer.

Momentum

New Analytics roles each week

Last 30 days: 244 new roles, against 196 the 30 days before (+24%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
