This week's read

The week of 26 October saw 42 new Customer Success roles posted in the UK, down from a peak of 85 in the week of 5 October, a 51% drop. Even so, the last 30 days held roughly steady overall: 281 new roles, almost matching the 279 in the 30 days before, up 1%. So while the monthly count is holding, the pace within October slowed sharply after peaking early in the month.

Right now there are 618 open Customer Success roles across 462 companies in the UK. The top 8 employers together, including Gartner, Amazon, Deliveroo and Salesforce, hold only 9% of all open roles. That means no single employer dominates hiring, so a search focused on a few famous names will miss most of the market.

Just under half of all open roles, 49%, sit at employers with recent filings on the UK Home Office sponsor register. Gartner, Amazon, Deliveroo and Salesforce are among those on that list. If you need sponsorship, that is a reasonable share of the market to target.

Only 15% of open roles are remote, so most Customer Success jobs in the UK still expect you in an office or in front of clients some of the time. On skills, Salesforce is named in 18% of postings, more than any other tool, so it shows up often in what employers want to see on a CV.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Expect a slower week

New postings fell 51% from the 5 October peak to 42 in the week of 26 October. Don't read too much into one quiet week, but expect fewer fresh postings right now than you saw in early October.

  • Look past the top employers

The top 8 employers, including Gartner, Amazon, Deliveroo and Salesforce, hold just 9% of the 618 open roles across 462 companies. Widen your search beyond the famous names to find most of the openings.

  • Check visa sponsor status

49% of open roles sit at employers with recent filings on the UK Home Office sponsor register, including Gartner, Amazon, Deliveroo and Salesforce. If you need sponsorship, start there.

Momentum

New Customer Success roles each week

Last 30 days: 281 new roles, against 279 the 30 days before (+1%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. Visa sponsors are employers matched to the government's own sponsor records. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
