Issue of 2 November 2026This week's read
There are 224 open Data & ML Engineer roles in Mexico right now, spread across 102 companies. The 30-day count barely moved: 90 new roles this period versus 89 before, up just 1%. That is a market holding its ground, not one pulling back or surging.
Look at the week-by-week line and you see more texture. New postings hit their high point in the week of 12 October, at 26 roles. By the week of 26 October that had eased to 20, a drop of 23% from the peak. So while the monthly total looks flat, the most recent weeks have been quieter than the month's best week.
Roles sit open for a median of 25 days, and employers are not shy about experience: the median minimum asked is 5 years, and 1 in 10 postings want 10 or more. Two thirds of listings state a year requirement at all, so if you are earlier in your career, check the posting closely before assuming you are a fit. Only 13% of roles are remote, so most of this market still expects you in an office or on a hybrid setup.
Eight employers account for 37% of all open roles. Capgemini leads with 21 openings, followed by Empleos.Banorte.Com at 12 and PWC at 11. Farmers Insurance Careers and Muttdata each have 9, Corning has 8, BBVA has 7, and DoorDash Mexico has 6. That concentration means a decent chunk of your search can focus on a short list of names.
On skills, Python and SQL dominate the postings, named in 65% and 56% of listings. AI and machine learning show up in 47%, and the cloud platforms, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and Snowflake, each appear in roughly a quarter of postings. By seniority, the market is mostly mid level: 51% of titles sit there, with 29% senior, and smaller slices for principal, lead and junior roles.

Momentum
New Data / ML roles each week
Last 30 days: 90 new roles, against 89 the 30 days before (+1%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.
