This week's read

This week's standout number is the jump in new finance and accounting roles. Employers posted 241 new roles in the last 30 days, up from 142 in the 30 days before, a 70% rise. The weekly count held at 71 new roles for a second week running after first hitting that mark on 19 Oct, so the pace has not eased.

Despite the surge, no single company is driving it. 252 companies are hiring for finance roles right now, and the eight biggest employers together hold only 19% of all open roles. BTG Pactual, Mercado Libre, Pacificacontinental and Amazon all show up often, but the market is spread wide rather than concentrated.

Roles do not stay open long. The median listing closes after just 17 days, so a slow application can mean missing out.

Experience requirements are moderate. The median minimum asked is 4 years, and only 11% of postings call for 10 years or more, so this is not a market dominated by senior-only openings.

Working from home is rare, with only 3% of open roles marked remote, so most finance jobs expect you on site. On tools, SAP is named most often, appearing in 22% of postings read, ahead of every other skill tracked.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Apply fast, roles close quickly

The median finance listing in Brazil stays open just 17 days. Do not sit on a posting that fits you, send your application as soon as you see it.

  • Look past the big names

252 companies are hiring, yet the top 8 employers hold only 19% of all open roles. Check smaller and mid-size firms, not just BTG Pactual or Mercado Libre.

  • SAP is the most named skill

SAP appears in 22% of postings read, more than Power BI, SQL or Python. If you have SAP experience, make sure it is easy to find on your resume.

Momentum

New Finance roles each week

Last 30 days: 241 new roles, against 142 the 30 days before (+70%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
