Issue of 2 November 2026

This week's read

Brazil has 281 open Data Analyst roles right now, spread across 134 companies. New postings over the last 30 days rose 63%, from 82 to 134. The weekly pace has been climbing too, from 7 new roles in the week of 7 September to 41 in the week of 26 October.

One company stands out. Mercado Libre has 40 open roles, more than any other employer on the list, which includes DiDi Global, Amazon, QuintoAndar, WPP Media, Inter, Agibank and C6 Bank. Together the top 8 employers hold 31% of all open roles, so hiring is spread fairly wide beyond that leading group.

Most roles target the middle of the ladder. 72% of titles are mid-level, 17% senior, 9% junior, and only small shares are lead or principal. The median minimum experience asked for is 4 years, and only 6% of postings ask for 10 or more years, so this is not mainly a market for very senior hires.

On tools, SQL is named in 61% of the 274 postings read in full, Power BI in 39%, and Python in 34%. Tableau appears in 20%, AI and machine learning in 13%. Fintech is the most common industry mention at 5%, ahead of e-commerce at 4%. Remote work is rare: only 6% of open roles are listed as remote, so most hiring expects you in an office.

Days to fill sit at a median of 21, and only 18% of postings state a years-of-experience requirement at all, so many listings leave that open. For job seekers, this is a month where the number of openings grew faster than the pool of leading employers did, meaning more companies outside the top names are likely hiring too.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Expect mostly mid-level openings

72% of titles are mid-level and only 6% ask for 10 or more years. If you have a few years of experience, you fit most of what is open right now.

  • SQL and Power BI lead the ask list

SQL appears in 61% of postings and Power BI in 39%, well ahead of Tableau at 20%. These are the tools showing up most often in job descriptions.

  • Don't expect remote by default

Only 6% of open roles are remote. Most employers, including the larger ones like Mercado Libre and Amazon, are hiring for in-person or hybrid roles.

Momentum

New Analytics roles each week

Last 30 days: 134 new roles, against 82 the 30 days before (+63%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
