South Korea marketing hiring up 10% this month, but weekly pace has cooled from its October peak

The week of 12 October was the busiest for new postings. Since then weekly numbers have dropped 25%, even though the 30-day total is still higher than the month before.

Issue of 2 November 2026

This week's read

There are 123 open marketing roles in South Korea right now, spread across 67 companies. New postings over the last 30 days came to 43, up 10% from the 39 posted in the 30 days before that. But the week by week picture shows the rush has faded: postings peaked at 16 in the week of 12 October and have since fallen to 12 in the week of 26 October, a 25% drop from that high point.

Hiring is not spread evenly. The top 8 employers account for 37% of all open roles. Coupang leads with 13 open roles, well ahead of DJE Holdings with 7. Careers.Apgroup.Com, Daewoong and Netflix each have 5, and Binance and Richemont each have 4. If you want to focus your search, these are the names showing up most.

Experience requirements are high. Among roles that state a minimum, the median is 6 years, and 18% of all postings ask for 10 years or more. Only 59% of roles give a specific year requirement at all, so check each listing closely rather than assuming based on title.

Remote work is rare in this market. Only 7% of open roles are remote, so most job seekers should plan on being in an office. The typical role also stays open for 39 days, so patience matters once you apply.

When it comes to skills, CRM stands out, named in 13% of the 116 postings read in full. Everything else, from AI and machine learning to Google Analytics, SQL, LinkedIn Ads, Meta Ads, YouTube and Adobe Experience Manager, sits at 4% or below. On the industry side, healthcare appears in 13% of postings and e-commerce in 11%, ahead of pharmaceuticals, retail and consumer packaged goods.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Weekly postings have eased

New roles peaked the week of 12 October at 16 and have since dropped to 12, a 25% fall. The 30-day total is still up 10%, so do not read the recent dip as a full slowdown.

  • Follow the top employers

Coupang, DJE Holdings, Careers.Apgroup.Com, Daewoong and Netflix together with three others make up 37% of all open roles. Start your search with these names.

  • Expect years of experience to matter

The median minimum asked is 6 years, and 18% of postings want 10 years or more. Only 59% of roles state a year requirement, so read each listing rather than assuming.

Momentum

New Marketing roles each week

Last 30 days: 43 new roles, against 39 the 30 days before (+10%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
