Issue of 2 November 2026

This week's read

There are 319 open Operations roles in Singapore right now, spread across 176 companies. New postings over the past 30 days came to 110, up 16% from the 95 posted in the prior 30 days. But the weekly count has cooled a bit: the week of 5 October hit a peak of 33 new roles, and the latest week, 26 October, posted 31, a 6% dip from that peak.

If you are applying, expect to wait. The median role has been open 29 days, and this is not a junior-heavy market: only 14% of roles are tagged junior, while 47% sit at mid level and 18% are principal. A quarter of postings, 26%, ask for 10 or more years of experience, and where years are stated (69% of roles), the median minimum is 5 years.

The top 8 employers, DBS, OCBC, Pacific International Lines, Bjakcareer, BNY, JPMorganChase, Prudential and PWC, account for 22% of all open roles, so no single company dominates the market. DBS leads with 12 open roles, followed by OCBC and Pacific International Lines with 9 each.

On skills, AI and machine learning is named in 13% of postings and Power BI in 11%, ahead of SQL, SAP, Tableau and Python, each asked for in 6 to 7% of roles. Financial services (15%) and banking (10%) are the industries most often named. Working methods like Agile, Lean and root cause analysis each appear in just 3% of postings, so no single method stands out.

Two things to flag before you search: remote work is rare, just 1% of open roles are remote, and almost no postings state pay, so there is not enough data here to say what the market pays.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Expect a longer search

The median role stays open 29 days. With 47% of roles at mid level and 18% at principal, this is not a market stacked with entry-level openings.

  • Years of experience matter

Where years are stated, the median ask is 5, and 26% of roles want 10 or more. If you are earlier in your career, look closely at the stated minimums before applying.

  • Don't count on remote or posted pay

Only 1% of roles are remote, and almost none list pay. Plan to ask about compensation and work setup directly in interviews.

Momentum

New Operations roles each week

Last 30 days: 110 new roles, against 95 the 30 days before (+16%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
