This week's read

Marketing hiring in Singapore has slowed. There were 128 new roles posted in the last 30 days, down from 150 in the 30 days before that, a drop of 15%. The weekly numbers tell the same story: postings peaked at 45 new roles in the week of 14 September and have since eased to 37 a week, down 18% from that peak.

Even so, there is still a fair amount open right now: 449 roles across 212 companies. Roles typically stay open for a median of 32 days, so there is no need to rush a decision once you are in a process.

Experience bars are on the higher side. Among roles that state a year requirement, which is 59% of all open roles, the median ask is 5 years minimum, and 16% want 10 years or more. Junior roles make up 28% of titles and mid-level 43%, while senior, principal and lead titles together make up the rest, so there is room at both ends but the bulk sits in the middle.

If you want to work from home, options are thin: only 4% of open roles are remote. On pay, too few postings in this market state a salary to say what the market is paying, so you will mostly need to ask or negotiate directly.

Fuku leads the hiring list with 15 open roles, followed by NTU with 13, and Marina Bay Sands, OCBC and Reolink each with 12. Together the top 8 employers hold only 20% of all open roles, so hiring is spread across many companies rather than concentrated in a few names. On skills, TikTok and CRM are each named in 10% of postings, AI and machine learning in 9%, and Canva and Google Analytics each in 8%.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Expect to work on-site

Only 4% of open marketing roles in Singapore are remote. Plan your search around being in the office rather than looking for remote-first employers.

  • Check the years required

Among roles stating a year requirement, the median ask is 5 years minimum, and 16% want 10 or more. Senior candidates face more competition at that top end.

  • Look beyond the big names

The top 8 employers hold just 20% of open roles, out of 212 companies hiring. Widen your search past Fuku, NTU, Marina Bay Sands and OCBC to the rest of the market.

Momentum

New Marketing roles each week

Last 30 days: 128 new roles, against 150 the 30 days before (-15%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
