Singapore IT infra postings cool 9%, but experience bar stays high
New role postings dropped 9% over the past month, though the pace picked back up in the last week. Employers still want years of experience and workers in the office.

Issue of 2 November 2026This week's read
Singapore's IT and infrastructure market has 276 open roles across 121 companies right now. New postings cooled 9% over the last 30 days, but the dip did not last long: the week of 26 October brought 22 new roles, close to the 23 seen at the peak week of 5 October.
Employers here want experience. The median posting asks for at least 5 years, and 17% of roles ask for 10 years or more. Only 9% of titles are junior, so if you are early in your career, the door is narrower this week.
Flexibility is hard to find too. Only 1% of open roles are remote, and none of the postings share a pay range, so there is not enough data to say what this market pays.
Python leads the skills list, asked for in 35% of postings. Cloud and automation tools like AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Azure also show up often, alongside ITIL for ways of working. Certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, and CCIE are named, but only in a small share of postings.
No single employer dominates hiring. The top 8 companies make up 33% of open roles, with Network For Electronic Transfers leading at 20. DBS, Kyndryl, and JPMorganChase also post regularly. With 121 companies hiring, there is room to look beyond the biggest names.
What this means for you
Three things you can act on this week
- High experience bar this week
The median posting asks for at least 5 years, and 17% want 10 or more. Only 9% of titles are junior, so if you are early in your career, expect fewer entry points right now.
- Remote work is rare
Only 1% of open roles are remote. If you need flexibility, plan to work on-site or look in other markets, since almost all roles here are in-person.
- Python and cloud skills matter
Python appears in 35% of postings, the most asked skill. Cloud and automation tools such as AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform also come up often, worth knowing before you apply.
Momentum
New IT / Infra roles each week
Last 30 days: 68 new roles, against 75 the 30 days before (-9%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.
