There are 3,011 open IT and infrastructure roles across Europe right now, spread over 1,273 companies. New postings in the last 30 days were up 23% compared with the 30 days before, 862 new roles against 701. But the weekly count has already come off its best week: it hit 261 new roles on 19 October, then slipped to 213 the week after, down 18% from that peak.
Hiring is spread thin. The top 8 employers together hold only 14% of all open roles, so no single company dominates this market. Capgemini has the most open roles at 145, followed by Kyndryl at 69, with Liebherr, LTIMindtree and Vodafone each around 36. One name worth watching is Metaline: its new postings rose 64% in the last 30 days, from 33 to 54, the sharpest increase among the top employers.
Most roles are not asking for deep seniority. The median minimum experience requested is 5 years, and only 8% of postings ask for 10 or more. By title, 66% of open roles sit at mid level, with senior titles at 19% and principal roles at 6%. Only 4% are junior and 4% are lead, so this is mainly a mid-career market.
On the technical side, Python appears in 28% of postings, followed closely by Kubernetes at 27%, Terraform and Linux both at 26%, and Azure and AWS at 23% and 22%. On process, ITIL is named in 11% of roles and Agile in 8%. Certifications barely feature: CCNA and CCNP each sit at just 2%.
Two things to flag before you apply. Only 9% of open roles are remote, so most still want you somewhere in particular. And only 6% of postings state pay, too few to say what the market is actually paying right now. The typical role stays open for 28 days before it's filled or pulled.
