Issue of 2 November 2026This week's read
Project manager hiring in India picked up 6% over the last 30 days, with 951 open roles spread across 417 companies. The typical listing stays open 18 days before it closes.
The experience ask is steep. The median minimum is 7 years, and 1 in 4 postings want ten years or more. Even so, 60% of titles are labeled mid-level, so don't assume a 'mid' title means a lighter experience requirement.
Remote work is rare, just 3% of open roles. Pay is rarely posted too: only 1% of listings share a number, too few to say what the market pays for this role right now.
Hiring is spread across many companies rather than concentrated in a few. LTIMindtree, Amazon, PWC and Amgen lead the list of top employers, but together the top 8 hold only 18% of all open roles.
On skills, Agile is asked for in 37% of postings, more than any other method or tool. Among certifications, PMP is named in 28% of postings, the most common one listed.
What this means for you
Three things you can act on this week
- Expect a high experience bar
The median minimum ask is 7 years, and 1 in 4 roles want ten years or more. Lead your resume with years of experience and project scope, since many postings screen on this first.
- Remote options are scarce
Only 3% of open roles are remote. Plan to apply for on-site or hybrid roles if you are searching for project manager work in India right now.
- PMP is the most-named certification
PMP appears in 28% of postings and Agile is asked for in 37%. Neither is required everywhere, but both come up often enough to be worth knowing before you apply.
Momentum
New Project Management roles each week
Last 30 days: 307 new roles, against 290 the 30 days before (+6%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.
