Finance hiring in Ireland jumps 27%, but the weekly pace has eased from its peak
426 roles are open across 169 companies, and new postings are still up on a month ago, even though the busiest week has already passed.

Companies read for 60 days or moreThis week's read
There are 426 open finance and accounting roles in Ireland right now, spread across 169 companies. Over the last 30 days, 152 new roles went up, against 120 in the 30 days before that, a 27% increase. But the week by week picture shows the rush has cooled a bit: postings hit 51 in the week of 19 October, then fell to 37 the week after, down 27% from that peak.
The roles themselves take a while to fill. The median listing stays open for 22 days, so if you apply to something posted two or three weeks ago, it is likely still live.
Eight employers account for 31% of all open roles. PWC has the most open roles at 27, followed by NTRS with 23, Grant Thornton - Gibraltar with 22, and Salessense with 21. Pru, Icon, SEI and Davy round out the rest of the top eight.
Most roles ask for some years of experience: 58% of postings state a minimum, and the median ask is 4 years. Only 5% want 10 or more years, so this is not a market built mainly around very senior hires. Just 2% of roles are remote, and only 8% post pay, too few to say what the market actually pays.
What this means for you
Three things you can act on this week
- Expect to go into an office
Only 2% of open roles are remote. If you are counting on working from home, narrow your search early rather than discovering this late in the process.
- ACCA and ACA come up often
ACCA is named in 21% of postings and ACA in 20%, with CIMA at 11%. These are the qualifications employers mention most, worth knowing as you read listings.
- Check the visa sponsor list
28% of open roles sit at employers with recent filings on Ireland's employment permits list. If you need sponsorship, check that list before applying.
Momentum
New Finance roles each week
Last 30 days: 152 new roles, against 120 the 30 days before (+27%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.
