Ashney Market WatchIrelandMarketing Issue of 2 November 2026

Irish marketing hiring is up 11% this month, but the weekly pace has cooled off its peak

October closed with fewer new postings than the mid-month high, even though the 30-day count is still ahead of the month before.

This week's read

There are 110 open marketing roles in Ireland right now, spread across 81 companies. Over the last 30 days, 62 new roles went up, compared with 56 in the 30 days before that, an 11% rise. But the week-by-week picture tells a different story: postings peaked at 19 in the week of 19 October, then fell to 11 in the week of 26 October, a 42% drop from that peak. So the month looks stronger on paper than the final week actually was.

No single company dominates here. The 8 biggest employers hiring, including Meta, Salesforce and Accenture, together hold only 20% of all open roles. That means most of your options sit outside the big names, spread thin across dozens of smaller employers. A role typically stays open for 16 days before it is filled or pulled.

Experience bars are moderate but present. Among roles that state a years requirement, which is 60% of them, the median ask is 5 years, and only 5% ask for 10 years or more. Most roles sit at mid level, 62% of postings, with senior roles at 13% and principal at 10%. Junior roles are scarce, just 6%.

If you want to work from home, options are tight: only 6% of roles are listed as remote. Pay is rarely stated too, just 19% of postings include it, so there is not enough data to say what the market typically pays. On skills, CRM shows up in 23% of postings, AI and machine learning in 19%, and Salesforce itself in 16%, with LinkedIn Ads and HubSpot named in 12% and 11%.

On visas, 35% of open roles sit at employers with recent filings on Ireland's employment permits list, including Meta, Accenture and Cardinal Health. That is worth knowing if sponsorship matters to your search, though it does not tell you whether any single open role itself will sponsor.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Don't read the month as the week

The 30-day count is up 11%, but the latest week fell 42% from its October peak. Apply broadly and keep momentum, rather than assuming hiring is accelerating right now.

  • Look past the top names

The 8 biggest employers hold only 20% of open roles. Most opportunities sit with smaller companies, so widen your search beyond Meta, Salesforce and Accenture.

  • Check the stated experience ask

Where years are stated, 60% of roles do, the median ask is 5 years. Only 5% want 10-plus years, so mid-level marketers have the widest pool to target.

Momentum

New Marketing roles each week

Last 30 days: 62 new roles, against 56 the 30 days before (+11%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. Visa sponsors are employers matched to the government's own sponsor records. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
