This week's read
There are 104 open People & HR roles in Ireland right now, spread across 63 companies. New postings over the last 30 days are up 12% compared with the 30 days before. But look closer at the weekly pattern and the picture shifts: the week of 28 September brought 16 new roles, the most of any week since early September, and the week of 26 October brought only 4. That is a 75% drop from the peak, so the market has slowed sharply even as the monthly total still reads as a gain.
Hiring is concentrated. The top 8 employers account for 39% of all open roles. Salessense leads with 14 open roles, followed by Lilly with 7 and EY with 5. If you are applying broadly, these are the names showing up most often in the market right now.
Visa sponsorship is worth checking before you apply. 35% of open roles sit at employers with recent filings on Ireland's employment permits list. Among the biggest employers, John Sisk & Son, Stryker and Amazon all appear on that list, so it is worth confirming a company's status if sponsorship matters to your application.
Experience requirements lean senior. The median minimum asked is 5 years, and 8% of postings want 10 years or more. 68% of postings state a years requirement at all, so most listings will tell you where you stand. On skills, HRIS appears in 32% of postings and Workday in 23%, making them the two most common systems named. CIPD is asked for in 18% of postings. Remote options are thin: just 6% of roles are remote, and pay is rarely disclosed, with only 21% of postings stating a figure.
Roles typically stay open a median of 24 days. Most postings sit at mid-level, which makes up 61% of titles, with senior roles at 21% and smaller shares at junior, lead and principal level. Employment law comes up as a named industry in a third of postings, more than any other sector listed.
What this means for you
Three things you can act on this week
- Expect a slower few weeks
New postings dropped to 4 in the week of 26 October, down 75% from the September peak. Do not read the 12% monthly gain alone; the week-to-week pace has eased noticeably.
- Check sponsor status early
35% of open roles sit at employers with recent filings on Ireland's employment permits list, including John Sisk & Son, Stryker and Amazon. Confirm this before applying if sponsorship is a factor for you.
- Know the systems being asked for
HRIS is named in 32% of postings and Workday in 23%. These are the two most common systems in the market, worth knowing where you stand on each before interviews.

New People roles each week
Last 30 days: 48 new roles, against 43 the 30 days before (+12%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.
