Issue of 2 November 2026This week's read
Singapore's People & HR market has 200 open roles spread across 122 companies right now. New postings over the last 30 days are up 5% compared with the 30 days before, 63 versus 60. But if you look week by week, the busiest week was 28 September with 21 new roles, and the most recent week, 26 October, had 13, a 38% drop from that peak. So the month as a whole looks steady, even though the weekly flow has slowed.
No single company dominates. The top 8 employers together hold just 26% of all open roles. NTU, OCBC and SG Gov Terp each have 8 openings, PWC and Temasek have 7 each, and SMRT Corporation, Micron and Deloitte SEA round out the list with 6, 5 and 4. With hiring spread this wide, it is worth checking beyond the biggest names.
Experience bars are on the higher side. The median role asks for 5 years minimum, and 21% of postings want 10 years or more, though only 60% of roles state a years requirement at all. Roles also take a while to fill: the median listing stays open 31 days. None of the open roles are remote, so this is an in-person or office-based market for now.
On skills, HRIS tools come up most, named in 21% of postings, followed by Workday at 17% and AI and machine learning at 15%. Employment law knowledge is asked for in 22% of roles, more than any other named industry background. Formal certifications barely feature: CIPD appears in just 2% of postings, with SHRM and ICF credentials each under 2%.
By seniority, half of all roles are classed as mid-level, with senior roles at 20% and junior at 18%. Principal-level roles make up 10% and lead roles just 3%. Pay is rarely disclosed, too few roles post a figure to say what the market is paying right now.
What this means for you
Three things you can act on this week
- Look past the big names
The top 8 employers hold only 26% of open roles. With 122 companies hiring, spend time searching beyond NTU, OCBC and the other most visible postings.
- Expect experience requirements
The median role asks for 5 years minimum, and 21% want 10 years or more. Check if you meet the stated bar before applying, since 60% of postings do specify one.
- Mention HRIS and Workday if you know them
HRIS appears in 21% of postings and Workday in 17%, more than any certification. If you have hands-on experience with either, make it visible early in your application.
Momentum
New People roles each week
Last 30 days: 63 new roles, against 60 the 30 days before (+5%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.
