UK Product Manager postings up 29%, but the weekly pace has cooled off its October peak

673 roles are open at 393 companies, and sponsorship, experience bars and pay all matter here as much as the headline growth number.

This week's read

There are 673 open Product Manager roles in the UK right now, spread across 393 companies. Over the last 30 days, 317 new roles went up, against 245 in the 30 days before that, a 29% rise. But look at the weekly pattern and the picture shifts: postings peaked the week of 19 October at 103 new roles, then fell to 57 the week of 26 October, a 45% drop from that peak. So the market grew over the month, but it has eased back from its best week.

If you need visa sponsorship, this is a market worth your time: 54% of open roles sit at employers with recent filings on the UK Home Office sponsor register. Among the biggest hirers, LSEG, GSK, Amazon, BNY and Vodafone are all on that list. JPMorganChase has the most open roles of any single employer, 26, followed by Investec with 12, but together the top 8 employers hold only 14% of all open roles, so this is not a market run by a handful of big names.

Experience bars are high. The median minimum asked for is 5 years, and 18% of postings want 10 or more. Only 32% of roles actually state a years requirement, so for most listings you will not know the bar until you read the full posting or apply.

Remote work is scarce here: just 6% of open roles are remote. Pay transparency is also thin, with only 11% of postings listing pay, too few to say what the market typically pays for this role.

On skills, AI and machine learning is named in 28% of postings and Agile in 26%, making them the two most common asks by far. SQL and Jira each show up in 8%. On the industry side, SaaS (12%), financial services (11%), fintech (10%) and payments (10%) lead. By seniority, mid-level titles make up 43% of postings, senior 25% and principal 19%, so this is a market weighted toward experienced hires rather than junior ones, which only make up 4%.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Expect a senior-leaning bar

The median minimum experience asked is 5 years, and 18% of postings want 10 or more. If you are early career, note junior titles are only 4% of postings.

  • Check sponsor status before applying

54% of open roles are at employers with recent visa filings on the UK Home Office register, including LSEG, GSK, Amazon, BNY and Vodafone.

  • Don't expect pay or remote by default

Only 11% of postings list pay and just 6% are remote. Plan to ask about both directly rather than filter by them.

Momentum

New Product roles each week

Last 30 days: 317 new roles, against 245 the 30 days before (+29%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. Visa sponsors are employers matched to the government's own sponsor records. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
