Issue of 2 November 2026

This week's read

There are 191 open product manager roles in Singapore right now, spread across 86 companies. New postings rose 19% over the last 30 days, up from 54 to 64. Week by week the pace has held close to its high point: 20 new roles in the week of 26 October, just below the peak of 21 the week before.

Hiring is not spread evenly. The top 8 employers account for 39% of all open roles. DBS leads with 21 open roles, followed by Okx with 11, and Micron and OCBC with 9 each. Fuku, Visa, JPMorganChase and Prudential round out the rest of the top names.

If you are applying, expect to be asked about your track record. The median minimum experience asked for is 5 years, and 17% of postings want 10 or more. Titles lean mid-level overall: 48% of open roles are mid, but a quarter are principal-level, well ahead of senior at 12% and lead at 8%.

On the skills side, AI and machine learning comes up in 26% of postings, far more than any other tool or language, with SQL a distant second at 7%. Agile is named in 19% of roles and Jira in 10%. The industries doing the hiring are mostly financial: fintech and payments each appear in 13% of postings, financial services in 12%, and cryptocurrency in 11%.

Two things to plan around: remote work is rare, with only 2% of open roles offering it, and pay is almost never posted, so you will need to research compensation elsewhere before you negotiate. A typical role stays open 41 days, so there is some time to prepare a strong application.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Expect an experience screen

The median ask is 5 years minimum, and 17% of postings want 10 or more. Be ready to show a track record, not just skills, especially for the 25% of roles pitched at principal level.

  • Look first at the top hirers

DBS, Okx, Micron and OCBC together post the most roles, and the top 8 companies hold 39% of all open positions. Starting your search there covers a large share of the market.

  • Don't expect remote or posted pay

Only 2% of open roles are remote, and almost none post a salary. Plan to be in Singapore and to research pay separately before any offer conversation.

Momentum

New Product roles each week

Last 30 days: 64 new roles, against 54 the 30 days before (+19%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
