US Product Manager hiring hits an 8-week high, but the door for junior PMs stays narrow
New postings are up 11% over the past 30 days, and last week was the busiest yet. Most of that demand is for people with years of experience already under their belt.

There are 5,641 open Product Manager roles in the US right now, spread across 2,281 companies. New postings are up 11% over the last 30 days compared to the 30 days before, and last week brought 706 new roles, the most of any week in the last two months.
No single company controls this market. Capital One has the most open roles at 222, followed by Amazon at 181 and JPMorganChase at 169. Even so, the top 8 employers together hold only 14% of all open roles, so most of your search will happen outside the biggest names.
This is not an easy market to break into. The median posting asks for at least 6 years of experience, and 21% want 10 years or more. By title, 27% of roles are principal level and 25% are senior, while only 3% are labeled junior.
Pay is posted on 62% of roles, and the typical range across all levels runs from $150k to $207k. That spans from $127k to $180k at mid level up to $193k to $272k for Director roles. AI and machine learning show up in 34% of postings, well ahead of any other skill, and Agile is named in 24%.
If you need visa sponsorship, 45% of open roles sit at employers with recent H-1B filings, including Amazon, JPMorganChase, Microsoft and NVIDIA. Microsoft's new postings rose 27% over the last 30 days, while RTX's fell 57% over the same stretch.
