Issue of 2 November 2026This week's read
Hiring has eased over the last few weeks. New postings peaked at 26 the week of 19 October, then dropped 27% to 19 the week of 26 October. Over the full 30 days, new roles are down 6% compared with the previous month.
This market wants experience. The median posting asks for at least 7 years, and 26% of roles want 10 or more. By title, 42% are principal level and 40% are mid level, so there is not much space in between for junior or lead roles.
208 roles are open across 141 companies, so hiring is not concentrated in just a few places. Cisco, Salesforce, Databricks and Palo Alto Networks lead the pack, but the top eight employers combined hold only 23% of all open roles.
AI and machine learning is the skill named most, appearing in 40% of postings, followed by Python, AWS and Azure. Certifications are rarely asked for, and only 5% of roles are remote, so plan to work mostly on site.
Roles stay open a median of 42 days, so expect the process to take some time. Pay is rarely posted here, so there isn't enough data to say what the market pays.
What this means for you
Three things you can act on this week
- Experience matters more than title
The median posting asks for 7+ years, and 42% of titles are principal level. If you have a decade or more of experience, note that 26% of roles specifically ask for 10 or more years.
- Plan for office-based work
Only 5% of roles are remote, so most Solutions Engineer jobs in Singapore expect you to work mostly on site.
- Highlight AI and cloud skills
AI and machine learning is named in 40% of postings. Python, AWS and Azure also come up often, so make sure these show clearly on your resume if you have them.
Momentum

Last 30 days: 76 new roles, against 81 the 30 days before (-6%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.
