Issue of 2 November 2026This week's read
If you work in legal or compliance in Mexico, this is a good month to be looking. The market now shows 109 open roles across 82 companies, and the 30-day hiring pace is up 27% compared with the prior month. Roles also don't sit open long: the median is 20 days, so employers are moving through their hiring pipelines at a decent clip.
The weekly pace built steadily from early September through October, then held level into late October rather than pulling back. That steadiness, after weeks of growth, is itself worth noting: this isn't a market that spiked and faded.
One name stands out on the employer list: Empleos.Banorte.Com alone has 13 open roles, well ahead of everyone else, where most other top employers, including Cemex, DiDi Global and Garrigues, sit at 2 or 3 roles each. Even so, the top 8 employers combined hold only 26% of all open roles, so most of the hiring in this market is happening outside the biggest names.
Experience bars are moderate: the median minimum ask is 5 years, and only 9% of postings want 10 or more. Seniority in titles leans heavily toward the middle, with 72% of roles labeled mid-level and far fewer junior or senior titles. Only 12% of roles are remote, so most of this hiring expects you in an office.
A few specialties show up more than others in the postings: fintech is named in 10% of roles and anti-money-laundering work in 8%, with intellectual property also at 8%. Certifications like CAMS appear in a small slice of postings, so they're a plus rather than a standard requirement.
What this means for you
Three things you can act on this week
- Aim for mid-level, not entry-level
72% of titles are mid-level and only 9% are junior. If you have a few years of experience but not a decade, this market is built for you.
- Watch Banorte's careers page
Empleos.Banorte.Com alone lists 13 of the market's 109 open roles, far more than any other employer tracked this week.
- Fintech and AML experience stand out
Fintech is named in 10% of postings and anti-money-laundering work in 8%. If your background touches either, it's worth highlighting on your resume.
Momentum
New Legal roles each week
Last 30 days: 38 new roles, against 30 the 30 days before (+27%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.
