This week's read

Legal & Compliance jobs in the rest of Latin America are having a stronger month. There are 154 open roles across 92 companies right now, and the number of new postings in the last 30 days rose to 48, up 26% from the 38 posted in the 30 days before that.

But look at the week by week picture and the story is more mixed. Hiring peaked the week of 19 October with 17 new roles, then fell to 10 new roles the week of 26 October, a drop of 41% from that peak. So while the month as a whole is ahead, the most recent week was quieter than the weeks around it.

A typical posting asks for a minimum of 4 years of experience, and only 13% of roles want 10 years or more, so this is not a market that is mostly chasing senior hires. That shows up in the title mix too: 71% of roles are mid level, 12% are junior, and senior, lead and principal titles each make up a small single digit share. Only 55% of postings state a minimum years requirement at all, so many ads leave this open.

If you are looking at the biggest employers, Garrigues leads with 10 open roles, followed by Abbfpw with 8, and HireHawk and Sacyr with 7 each. Together, the top 8 employers hold 35% of all open roles, so beyond them, hiring is spread across many smaller companies. Just 23% of roles are remote, so most of this hiring expects you in an office.

On subject matter, fintech is named in 8% of postings, financial services in 7%, KYC in 6%, pharmaceuticals in 6%, and AML in 5%. Among certifications, CAMS appears in 3% of postings and ICA certification in 1%, so neither is asked for often, but CAMS comes up more than any other credential here.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Apply now, don't wait for next peak

The month is up 26% overall, but the most recent week was quieter than the week of 19 October. Don't assume the fastest hiring window is still ahead.

  • Mid level experience fits best

71% of titles are mid level and the typical ask is 4 years minimum. Senior-only candidates with 10+ years match just 13% of postings.

  • Expect office-based roles

Only 23% of open roles are remote. If location flexibility matters to you, filter early since most postings will expect in-office or hybrid presence.

Momentum

New Legal roles each week

Last 30 days: 48 new roles, against 38 the 30 days before (+26%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
