If you are watching this market week to week, the slowdown is hard to miss. The busiest week was 14 September, with 23 new roles posted. By the week of 26 October that had fallen to 12, a drop of 48% from that peak. The 30 day count tells the same story: 48 new roles appeared in the latest 30 days, down from 70 in the 30 days before, a 31% fall.
There are still 113 open remote Project Manager roles right now, spread across 81 companies, so the market has not dried up. But a role posted today is likely to sit open for a while: the median listing stays open 28 days before it is filled or pulled. That is worth knowing if you are timing applications, since there is no rush to apply within the first day or two.
This is a mid-level market more than a senior one. 73% of open roles are pitched at mid level, with only 18% senior and 4% at lead level. Where years of experience are stated, which is 59% of roles, the median ask is 5 years, and only 13% of roles ask for 10 or more years. If you have a strong mid-career background, you are in the largest slice of demand here.
Among named employers, Emplois sur GROUPE TEHORA has the most open roles at 13, followed by Syneos Health with 6. No single company dominates the market though: the top 8 employers together hold only 33% of all open roles, so most of the 113 openings are spread across the other 73 companies hiring.
On skills, Agile is asked for in 21% of postings and Jira in 19%, with Microsoft Project named in 16% and Scrum in 12%. PMP is the certification that comes up most, named in 19% of postings, well ahead of Certified ScrumMaster at 7% and PMI-ACP at 3%.
