There are 110 open security engineer roles in Mexico right now, spread across 73 different companies. A typical role stays open 21 days before it is filled or pulled. Over the last 30 days, 42 new roles were posted, down 7% from the 45 posted in the 30 days before that.
Look at the week by week picture and the story is less flat than that one number suggests. New postings ran at 7 a week in early September, climbed to 13, dipped back to 6 by mid October, then jumped to 16 in the week of 26 October, the busiest week tracked. So the pace has been uneven, not steadily falling.
No single company dominates hiring. Empleos.Banorte.Com has the most open roles at 8, followed by EY, Hitachi and PWC with 4 each, and BBVA, Levi Strauss and Co, NOV and Salesloft with 3 each. Together these eight employers account for 29% of all open roles, which means most of the market sits outside the biggest names.
On skills, cloud and coding lead the way: AWS and Python each show up in 23% of postings, AI and machine learning and SIEM each in 20%, and Google Cloud in 17%. CISSP is the most asked for certification, named in 21% of postings, ahead of CISA and CISM at 15% each.
Most roles target the middle of the career ladder. Mid-level titles make up 62% of postings and senior titles 25%, while only 3% of roles ask for 10 or more years of experience. The median minimum asked for is 4 years, and 69% of postings state a years requirement at all. Remote work is limited, with only 15% of open roles listed as remote.
