Issue of 2 November 2026

This week's read

There are 148 open security engineer roles across the rest of Latin America this week, posted by 84 different companies. New postings rose 4% over the last 30 days, 54 new roles against 52 in the prior window. A typical role stays open for 30 days before it is filled or closed.

Hiring is not spread evenly. The top 8 employers alone hold 40% of all 148 open roles. PWC leads with 16 open roles and Auxis follows with 15. Aspenviewtech, Inchcape and Mercado Libre round out the next tier, each with 5 to 7 open roles.

Week by week, the pace has held fairly steady. New postings peaked at 17 in the week of 5 October and sit at 16 in the most recent week, 26 October. That is close to the high point for the past two months, not a drop-off.

Most roles target the middle of the career ladder. 59% of titles are mid-level, 23% senior, and only 9% junior. Despite that, employers rarely ask for deep seniority: the median minimum experience requested is 4 years, and only 3% of postings call for 10 or more years. Where years are stated, which is 67% of roles, the bar is modest.

On skills, AWS is the most asked-for, named in 31% of postings, followed by Python at 29% and SIEM at 27%. Azure and Google Cloud appear in 21% and 19%. CISSP is the most requested certification, named in 30% of postings, ahead of CISA at 15% and CISM at 12%. Remote work is limited: only 11% of roles are remote.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Start with the biggest posters

PWC (16 open roles) and Auxis (15) post more than any other employer here, and the top 8 firms together hold 40% of all open roles. Check these first if you want the widest pool of current openings.

  • You don't need 10 years

Only 3% of postings ask for 10 or more years of experience, and the median minimum asked is just 4 years. Most titles are mid-level (59%), so this market is not only for veterans.

  • Plan for office-based work

Only 11% of open roles are remote, so most security engineer hiring here expects you on site. Factor that into which roles you apply to and where you look.

Momentum

New Security roles each week

Last 30 days: 54 new roles, against 52 the 30 days before (+4%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
