Singapore customer support postings up 18% in a month, but weekly pace has cooled off its peak

Monthly hiring is higher than a month ago, yet the week of 19 October was the busiest of the last eight, and new postings have since fallen by half.

Issue of 2 November 2026

This week's read

There are 133 open customer support roles in Singapore right now, spread across 97 companies. Over the last 30 days, 46 new roles were posted, up from 39 in the 30 days before that, an 18% rise. But look at the weekly pattern and the story has a twist: the week of 19 October brought 22 new roles, the most of any week in two months, and the week after that dropped to 11, half as many.

So the market is busier than it was a month ago, but the latest week is quieter than the peak week just before it. If you are timing your applications, know that hiring can come in bursts rather than a steady climb. A role posted today has sat open a median of 34 days before you see it, so there is no rush born of scarcity.

No single employer stands out as dominant. The top 8 companies hiring, including DXC Technology with 8 open roles, Network For Electronic Transfers with 7, and DBS, JPMorganChase and KLA with 4 each, together hold only 27% of all open roles. The rest of the 97 hiring companies are spread thin, so casting a wide net matters more than chasing a handful of big names.

Most roles want some experience but not a lot of it. The median minimum asked is 3 years, and only 1% of postings want 10 or more. Of the roles that state a seniority level, 76% are mid level, with junior roles at 9% and senior at 10%, so this is mostly a mid career market, not an entry point or a late career one.

On the practical side, remote work is rare, just 4% of roles, so expect to be in Singapore and likely on site. Pay is almost never stated, only 2% of postings include it, so you will need to ask directly. On the skills side, Microsoft Windows is named in 17% of postings and Linux in 12%, with AI and machine learning, Python and SQL each named in around 1 in 10. Financial services, banking and payments are the industries that come up most in these roles.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Expect bursts, not a steady climb

The week of 19 October saw 22 new roles, the most in two months, then the next week dropped to 11. Check often rather than assuming a flat, predictable flow.

  • Spread your search across employers

The top 8 hiring companies hold only 27% of open roles. With 97 companies hiring in total, do not focus only on DXC Technology, DBS or other big names.

  • Ask about pay and location early

Only 2% of postings state pay and just 4% are remote. Raise these questions yourself rather than expecting the listing to answer them.

Momentum

New Customer Support roles each week

Last 30 days: 46 new roles, against 39 the 30 days before (+18%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
