Issue of 2 November 2026This week's read
If you're job hunting as a Data Analyst in Mexico right now, the timing looks good. New postings are up 22% over the last 30 days compared to the 30 days before, 88 new roles versus 72. The week of 26 October brought 26 new roles, the busiest week on record and still the current pace, so there's no sign yet of things slowing down.
The job itself stays open a median of 27 days, which gives you a decent window to apply once you spot a posting. Across the 274 open roles, 138 different companies are hiring, and the top 8 employers only make up 28% of all open roles. That spread means you're not limited to a handful of big names like Empleos.Banorte.Com, DiDi Global, Mercado Libre or Farmers Insurance Careers, even though they currently post the most.
On experience, the bar is lower than you might expect. The median minimum asked is 3 years, and none of the postings ask for 10 or more years. Still, only 52% of roles actually state a years requirement, so for the rest you won't know the bar until you read the full posting. By title level, 64% of roles are mid-level, 19% senior, and 14% junior.
If you want to work from home, know that only 9% of open roles are remote, so most hiring is for in-office or hybrid work. On tools, SQL and Power BI lead by far, named in 43% and 38% of postings. Python shows up in 27%, Tableau in 22%, and Agile working methods are mentioned in 12%. Certifications barely come up at all.
What this means for you
Three things you can act on this week
- Hiring pace is at its peak
New postings hit 26 in the week of 26 October, matching the busiest week so far and up 22% over the last 30 days. This is not a market that's cooling off.
- Experience bar is reachable
The median minimum asked is just 3 years, and no postings ask for 10 or more. But only 52% of roles state a years requirement, so read each posting closely.
- SQL and Power BI matter most
SQL appears in 43% of postings and Power BI in 38%, well ahead of Python (27%) and Tableau (22%). These are the tools showing up most in employer listings.
Momentum
New Analytics roles each week
Last 30 days: 88 new roles, against 72 the 30 days before (+22%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.
