This week's read

Hiring for People and HR roles across the rest of Latin America is up 20% over the past 30 days, with 154 companies posting work right now. But look at the week-by-week numbers and the push has already cooled: new postings peaked in the week of 19 October and have since eased back 19%. If you're timing applications, the busiest stretch was a couple of weeks ago, not now.

No single employer dominates this market. The top 8 companies together hold only 17% of all open roles, so hiring is spread across many firms rather than stacked in a few. Hirehoratiocx leads the list, with Scotiabank, PWC and Sezzle also among the most active.

The experience bar here is not high. The median posting asks for just 3 years of experience, and only 5% of roles want 10 or more years. Titles tell the same story: 79% of open roles are classed as mid-level, so this is not a market full of senior openings.

Remote work is rare. Just 4% of open roles are listed as remote, so plan on an onsite or hybrid role. On skills, HRIS tools are named in 18% of postings and Workday in 13%, well ahead of anything else employers are asking for.

Roles don't sit open long here. The median posting stays open just 15 days, so when you see something that fits, move on it quickly.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Experience bar is low

The median posting asks for just 3 years of experience, and only 5% want 10 or more. This is a good market for mid-career candidates rather than senior specialists.

  • Apply fast once you see it

The median role stays open only 15 days. Have your materials ready so you can respond the same week a role is posted.

  • HRIS and Workday stand out

HRIS is named in 18% of postings and Workday in 13%, far ahead of other tools. If you have either on your resume, make it easy to find.

Momentum

New People roles each week

Last 30 days: 97 new roles, against 81 the 30 days before (+20%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
