Issue of 2 November 2026This week's read
There are 100 open Product Designer roles across the rest of Latin America right now, spread over 65 companies. New postings are down 15% compared with the previous 30 days.
Look at the week by week picture and the slowdown is even clearer. The week of 28 September had 22 new roles, the most of any week on record here. The most recent week, 26 October, had just 6, a drop of 73% from that peak.
Roles take a while to fill once posted: the median listing stays open 27 days. Experience asks are moderate, with a median minimum of 4 years and only 6% of postings asking for 10 or more years. Just 15% of roles are remote, so most hiring still expects you in a specific location.
Figma is the clearest skill signal, named in 69% of postings read. Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator follow, each asked for in well over a third of postings. Among employers, Monks has the most open roles, and the top 8 companies together hold 33% of all open positions, so hiring is not concentrated in just one or two names.
By seniority, mid level titles make up 52% of open roles and senior titles 34%, with lead, junior and principal titles making up smaller slices. That mix suggests most of the current demand sits in the middle of the career ladder, not at the very top or bottom.
What this means for you
Three things you can act on this week
- Expect a slower week over week pace
New postings dropped from 22 in late September to 6 in the most recent week. Do not read a quiet week as the whole picture, check the 30 day trend too.
- Figma is the skill to show
It appears in 69% of postings read in full, well ahead of other tools like Photoshop or Illustrator. Make sure it is visible on your resume and portfolio.
- Aim at mid level roles first
52% of open roles are mid level and 34% senior, with only 6% asking for 10 or more years of experience. The market is not demanding deep seniority to get hired.
Momentum
New Design roles each week
Last 30 days: 46 new roles, against 54 the 30 days before (-15%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.
