Issue of 2 November 2026

This week's read

There are 270 open IT and infrastructure roles in Mexico right now, posted by 131 companies. Over the last 30 days, 85 new roles went up, compared with 70 in the 30 days before, a 21% rise. But the week by week picture is choppier: postings jumped to 40 in the week of 19 October, then fell back to 17 the following week, a drop of 58% from that peak. If you are timing your applications, know that some weeks bring a wave of new roles and others bring far fewer.

Hiring is spread across many employers, but a few stand out. The top 8 companies account for 30% of all open roles. Kyndryl leads with 23 open positions, well ahead of Levi Strauss and Co with 11, and DXC Technology and KION Group with 9 each. Capgemini and NTT DATA Services each have 7 open roles, and Empleos.Banorte.Com and Sitio de Oportunidades Empleo Grupo Coppel each have 8.

Cloud and scripting skills dominate the postings read this week. Python appears in 29% of roles, Azure in 26%, AWS in 23%, and Linux in 22%. Terraform and Kubernetes are each named in about a fifth of postings, and PowerShell in 19%. On the process side, ITIL is asked for in 19% of roles and root cause analysis in 13%, while certifications like CCNA, CKA and CKAD each appear in just 2% of postings.

Most roles target the middle of the career ladder. Mid level titles make up 70% of postings, with senior roles at 18% and principal roles at 5%. Only 8% of postings ask for 10 or more years of experience, though the median minimum asked for is 4 years, and 64% of postings state a years requirement at all. Remote work is scarce, at 11% of open roles, and the typical role stays open for 24 days before it is filled or closed.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Expect uneven weekly posting waves

New roles jumped to 40 in one week, then fell to 17 the next. Check postings often rather than assuming a steady weekly flow.

  • Core cloud skills show up often

Python, Azure, AWS and Linux each appear in over a fifth of postings, with Terraform, Kubernetes and PowerShell close behind. Certifications are rarely named.

  • Plan for mostly onsite work

Only 11% of open roles are remote. If location flexibility matters to you, factor that into which roles you target.

Momentum

New IT / Infra roles each week

Last 30 days: 85 new roles, against 70 the 30 days before (+21%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
