Issue of 2 November 2026

This week's read

There are 317 open IT and infrastructure roles across the rest of Latin America right now, spread across 163 different companies. New postings over the past 30 days reached 92, up 8% from the 85 posted in the prior 30 days. That is a real gain, but look closer at the weekly numbers: the pace hit 26 new roles in the week of 19 October and stayed at 26 the following week. The market grew over the month, but it did not keep accelerating into the final week.

No single company owns this market. The top 8 employers together hold only 25% of all open roles, which tells you hiring is spread thin rather than concentrated in a few giants. Auxis and Kyndryl each have 15 open roles, the most of any employer, followed by NTT Limited with 12 and Capgemini with 11. JPMorganChase, DXC Technology, Encora 10 and Millicom round out the top 8, each with single digits.

If you work with cloud and automation tools, you are in demand. Python is asked for in 31% of postings, AWS in 25%, and Linux and Terraform both in 24%. Azure and Kubernetes each appear in 21% of postings, with Bash at 18% and Ansible at 16%. On the process side, ITIL shows up in 15% of postings and root cause analysis in 13%, so operational know-how matters alongside the toolset.

Most of these jobs are not remote: only 10% are listed that way, so expect to be in an office or working hybrid for the large majority of roles. The experience bar is moderate rather than senior-heavy. The median minimum ask is 5 years, and just 6% of postings want 10 or more years of experience, even though 62% of postings state a years requirement at all. That lines up with the seniority mix: 67% of roles are mid-level, 23% senior, and only small slices are junior, lead or principal.

Roles stay open a median of 21 days before they are filled or pulled, which is a reasonable window if you are preparing an application rather than rushing one out. Formal certifications are not a big filter here: CCNA appears in just 4% of postings, CCNP in 3%, and PMP in 2%. The bigger signal in this market is the tool list, not the credential list.

What this means for you

Three things you can act on this week

  • Match the tool list, not a cert

Python, AWS, Linux and Terraform each show up in a quarter or more of postings, while certifications like CCNA and PMP appear in only a few percent. Tailor your resume around the tools, not badges.

  • Plan for office or hybrid work

Only 10% of open roles are remote, so most employers expect you on site at least part of the time. Factor this into which roles you apply for and where.

  • You don't need a decade of experience

The median ask is 5 years and just 6% of postings want 10-plus years. Mid-level candidates make up 67% of the roles on offer, so don't rule yourself out if you're not deep senior.

Momentum

New IT / Infra roles each week

Last 30 days: 92 new roles, against 85 the 30 days before (+8%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.

How we count

Ashney reads companies' own careers sites directly, hourly, not job boards. A role posted for many cities counts once, and staffing agencies are left out. A role counts as new in the week it was posted, and every change is measured at the same companies in both periods, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth. The written read is by the Ashney Intelligence Engine from this issue's numbers only, and every number and employer in it is checked against them before it is published. This report is written weekly; issue of 2 November 2026.
