Issue of 2 November 2026This week's read
Project manager hiring in Mexico picked up over the last 30 days. There were 71 new postings, up from 63 in the prior 30-day window, a 13% rise. The weekly pace has held at its high point for the year: the week of 26 October matched the week of 19 October, both with 24 new roles.
Right now there are 198 open roles spread across 114 companies. No single employer dominates the market. The top 8, including Amazon, Empleos.Banorte.Com, PwC and Grupo Coppel's careers site, together hold only 23% of all open roles.
Most roles target the middle of the career ladder. 69% of postings are for mid-level project managers, against 17% senior and 7% junior. Employers typically ask for a minimum of 4.5 years of experience, and 11% want 10 or more years.
Agile ways of working show up often: Agile is named in 23% of postings and Scrum in 17%. PMP is the certification most asked for, appearing in 16% of postings. Only 11% of roles are remote, so most of this work ties you to an office.
Roles stay open for a median of 23 days before they close, a fairly quick turnaround for anyone applying now.
What this means for you
Three things you can act on this week
- PMP comes up most often
PMP is named in 16% of postings, well ahead of Certified ScrumMaster or PRINCE2 at 5% each. Worth knowing where you stand on it before you apply.
- This market favours mid-level
69% of open roles are for mid-level project managers and the median minimum experience asked is 4.5 years. Only 17% are senior roles, so this is mainly a mid-career market.
- Remote work is scarce
Only 11% of open roles are remote. If you need to work from home, expect a narrower set of options in this market right now.
Momentum
New Project Management roles each week
Last 30 days: 71 new roles, against 63 the 30 days before (+13%). Each week counts the same companies, and a role counts as new only in the week it was posted, so a careers site we start reading never shows up as growth.
